Springman Brothers Reality Repair

Genres: adventure, fantasy
Jim Springman's hometown of Queen's Port was transformed into the setting of his sister's fantasy novel when one of his brother's inventions exploded and tore reality. Now Jim finds himself in the business of Reality Repair with a bit of attempted heroism thrown in for good measure. If things don't improve soon he might even have to learn to cook. And use the washing machine.
Jim and his friend, Ruthie (and her annoying sister, Josie) are back in another crazy, page-turning adventure. Determined to rescue his sister – from her own imagination, if necessary – and restore at least some normality to the now-eccentric world around him, Jim finds that real-life fantasy adventures aren't nearly as clear cut as they are in books. And why is his annoying older brother so sure that rescuing Ingrid is a bad idea?
Eccentric characters, unexpected plot turns, and a local hero who believes too much of his own press, Wright's series is part fantasy-parody, part-comedy, part something all his own. Gifted readers will enjoy the tongue-in- cheek approach to fantasy and all the clever gadgets, gizmos and thingamajigs.
Good light-hearted fun.

Gifted children vary a lot. Some are great at sports. Some have disabilities. Children can be gifted or not along one or more of a large number of dimensions. Labels like "gifted" need to be used carefully as all children are different. |
