The STaR Association Program for Young Children - Kellyville - 2010

The STaR Association (www.star.org.au) is establishing programs in 2010 at Kellyville for young children who are potentially gifted. Project director is Dr Kerry Hodge from the STaR Association and Macquarie University. We are seeking expressions of interest from families for the following:

• Playgroup (once weekly at this stage)
• Stimulating teacher-led activities along with free play
• Opportunities to informally discuss child's development with staff
• Parent discussion groups from time to time.

Cost per family is $150 per school term of 10 weeks

Enrichment program (once weekly at this stage)

• For up to 15 children aged 3-5
• Opportunities to play and learn to a satisfying depth with children of similar intellectual level; includes teacher-led and child-initiated activities
• Focus is enrichment and exploration, not pressure to perform
• Children will be screened (for suitability for program and research purposes) and priority given to children in the year before school
• Cost for a school term of 10 weeks is $300 if a 2 hour program operates and $600 if a 5 hour program operates
