Justice Leadership Conference for gifted students

THIS EVENT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR A REVIEW OF THE CONFERENCE AND THE NEW EVENTS COMING SOON!

Teachers and Homeschooling Parents are invited to nominate appropriate students to a forthcoming Justice Leadership Conference.

In consultation with the NSWAGTC, the Justice Education Team from NSW Young Lawyers has planned a very special event for gifted young people in Years 7 or 8.

If you work with young people who are passionate about issues of justice and want to make a difference in the world, we invite you to register for this exciting event.

The Justice Leadership Conference will be held at NSW Parliament House on Monday 14 May 2012 and will be opened by the Hon. Michael Kirby. A range of interactive workshops will be offered in areas relating to social justice and human rights, including Children's Rights, Poverty, Refugees and Environmental issues.

Bookings close on April 27 but, as numbers are limited, we urge you to book now to secure your place. Registration will be limited to 5 students per school or family. Thanks to the sponsorship of the NSW Law Society, the cost is a nominal $30 per student, which includes morning tea and lunch for students and their accompanying teacher or parent.

For ful information check the Conference Flyer and, if interested, complete and return the Registration Form. If you require any further information, please contact Claire Hammerton on 9689 4497 (business hours).

Events Program 2011

What is happening?

Over the next few months the NSWAGTC committee is revisiting our events program and designing new workshops, new presentations and new activities to address the needs of our members.

Our next key events are the 2e* forum on May 14, followed by our AGM on June 4. Both these events offer chances for conversation, learning and information for gifted families.

Later in 2011 we will be offering workshops that focus on drama, music making, science and creative activity. If you have ideas for events that you would like to see happening please let us know - adding comments to this item will provide us with an idea of what other events are relevant to our members.

Do you want parent information?  Activities for children? Workshop days for parents and children together? Evening events? Discussion groups? Local events in areas outside of Sydney? THe more you tell us, the more effectively we can provide for your needs.

What is a quality event for you? Keep the committee in touch with your needs to ensure the NSWAGTC is what you most need!
